We are a small kennel in Frederick Maryland, our kennel name comes from our property as we have beautiful walnut trees all around our property that shade our trails and our pastures. Walnut Spring kennel is a small breeding kennel that focuses on performance and conformation, and happy family pets. 

Our interest in Australian Shepherds started when one came into my first clinic I worked at as a veterinary technician. I fell in love with his personality and his overall structure. We wanted to get into training performance sports and dabble in the show ring. Our first Australian Shepherd came from a local breeder who has since passed away. Layla was truly an amazing dog that taught us so much about the breed and how versatile they can be. She worked my family's cows, helping in the field, and went trail riding. She was great at obedience and agility. She retired early and spent most of her time going to work with mom or going up to our family's cow farm. She oversaw everything from the yard or porch.

We strive for good temperaments, good health, and structure with our dogs. We strive for all around good dogs focusing on performance, conformation showing, and great family dogs. We feel that it is very important that all our Australian Shepherds are placed in the very best homes. All puppies are sold with full health clearances under contract with a life long commitment from us.
